Dashboard and Cortana

  • The main tile has been replaced with the game's icon and a background of the game you're playing if no custom background has been set
  • Quick access to the Game Hub, interact with Clubs, Looking For Groups and your achievements for the game you're playing
  • Cortana can now set alarms and reminders


  • The Guide can now be opened with one tap on the Xbox button
  • The Guide has a new home page providing you access to your dashboard, recently used items, music controls and pins
  • You can now bring up the Guide and press "X" or "Y" to record
  • You can now show an achievement tracker which allows you to play and track you progress for an achievement while doing so
  • Beam has been added as a new tab, but is not available yet


  • Blu-ray player bitstream passthrough is now supported in beta

Settings & behavior

  • When updating your Xbox, it will now show in more detail how much progress has been made
  • You will now be able to keep your Xbox up-to-date no matter the power mode
  • You can now play with two controlers but let them act like one with Copilot
  • Improved Narrator and Magnifier
  • New settings for audio output and custom rumble settings
  • Dolby Atmos for Home Theater, Dolby Atmos for Headphones, and Windows HRTF is now available for developers

Fixed issues

  • Fixes an issue that caused which would result in no party chat headset audio after resuming form connected standby
  • Selecting Done to exit the purchase screen for an Xbox 360 backwards compatible game now works
  • Fixes an issue where it was not possible to navigate certain apps due to the lack of a cursor
  • Fixes an issue that resulted in the interface to freeze and become unresponsive when a steeing wheel was connected
  • VUDU should ow launch properly
